"Rīgas satiksme" participates in Shadow Day
"Rīgas satiksme" hosted 10 schoolchildren, who visited tram depot No. 5, bus depot No. 7 and the traffic control service to become familiar with how day-to-day work is organised in the company and to see how public transport is prepared for service. One of the shadows, Jānis, applied for tram depot No. 5 to see the new low-floor trams more closely. Another shadow, Reinhards, said he wanted to see how trams are maintained.
At the beginning, all the shadows gathered in the Administration centre to get a general idea of the company – its history, goals and wide range of operations. After an introductory presentation, they accompanied their hosts and continued to familiarise themselves with how the company operates.
It should be reminded that at the beginning of February every pupil could apply as shadow in "Rīgas satiksme". Most of them had applied for shadowing drivers, yet they have been offered other hosts for safety reasons.
